From June to July

As June sped by, I began to wonder if it would be my first month with zero orders and zero KU page reads. As June 31st came to a close, I had made 1 book sale and had 67 KU page reads, and I’m grateful for those!

While I’ve been on a much-needed break from writing, I've continued to engage with you all through Facebook’s scheduled posts. However, the past month has been slower in terms of activity, reminding me that posts alone don’t drive sales or reads. I firmly believe that the most powerful tool for attracting new readers is your word of mouth.

This past weekend, I dove back into writing and made good progress on what I think will be my next release. I can’t say for sure, simply because I never know which of my muses will speak to me or when the inspiration will come for each project. It may seem counterproductive to some writers, but I always follow my inspiration, even if it takes me away from a work I “should” be devoting all of my time to.

I’ve been going back and forth between the sequel to Codex Sohrakia, and my stand-alone book, Unholy Obsession. It’s looking like UO will be done before Codex 2, simply because it’s a smaller book, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for that one. It’s still months away from release, but I plan to concentrate on UO so that I can keep momentum with a new release as I work on the much more difficult Codex sequel.

Thank you all for your support and kindness. It still feels surreal to have my writing out in the world. The reception has been wonderful, and I can’t express how truly grateful I am for all of you, whether you ever read my work or not. a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
